BA (Hons), Institute of Integrative Nutrition Certified

Better Babies began in 2017 when I was struggling to get pregnant myself and was growing tired of doctors trying to prescribe drugs rather than address the underlying issues. Issues that I was seeing in more and more of my friends.

I was also conscious of the rapid rise particularly in autoimmune, allergies and neurological issues in children - without consistent information as to potential causes or increased risk factors.

At the same time, I was aware that the advice we are given for raising children has barely changed in decades, despite the fact our world now looks very different.

So, I went looking in the latest science for answers. More specifically, I went looking for some practical things I could do to potentially mitigate some of the pressure modern life is imposing on our bodies.

As an investment banker for nearly a decade and a half, I decided to turn my geekiness and ability to process vast amounts of complex information in to finding answers. Two years later, after trawling through hundreds of pieces of the latest medical research, assembling the Better Babies advisory board (see below) and graduating from the Institute of Integrative Nutrition: betterbabies.com was born. Exactly a year after my son Matteo was born.

Better Babies is the collection of everything I have found on my journey. What i’ve realised is that awareness is one of our most powerful tools. Awareness of some of the modern and often well hidden factors that increase our risks. After that its about avoiding where you can and boosting the good stuff. Simple as that!
